'Peacock feather Ball with Victorian style Jacket'- July 2009
Sarah had a bespoke design, inspired by Uptights original Peacock design. The gown was a rainbow of colours, taken from the colours of the peacock feathers and Sarahs many vibrant tattoos.
The main gown, curvy corset and full ball gown skirt were in a red purple shot silk, with an under skirt of turquoise silk. The skirt was swagged up with hand embroidered peacock feathers, the skirt also had pockets in the sides. The corset had the Peacock feathers design embroidery, which has a purple silk chiffon over a turquoise silk, laid on the purple corset base. This was then free machine embroidered on, showing the depth of colours in the three different fabrics, along with the peacock feather embroidery and crystals. The back of the corset was equally colourfull, with triple ribbon lacing, giving a classic Uptight 'human maypole' look...we do love a ribbon...or 3....
There was then a Victorian style riding jacket, cut and fitted to go over the corset in the contrasting Turquoise silk, with deep pleats at the back, and embroidered removable motif, lined in purple silk, and with bespoke silk covered buttons, over dozens of hand sewn tiny hooks and bar closure. There was also a small purple silk chiffon modesty panel at the neck, to cover Sarah tattoos, to allow for a full reveal after the coat was removed.
